Opening
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Hymn
Praise to the Holiest in the height, And in the depth be praise: In all His words most wonderful; Most sure in all His ways!
John Henry Newman (1801–1890); first published 1865. Public domain.
The reading
Pause in the middle of the day. Read slowly, as if someone were speaking to you.
No Gospel is published for this date.
Galatians 6:7–10
Do not choose to wander astray. God is not to be ridiculed. For whatever a man will have sown, that also shall he reap. For whoever sows in his flesh, from the flesh he shall also reap corruption. But whoever sows in the Spirit, from the Spirit he shall reap eternal life. And so, let us not be deficient in doing good. For in due time, we shall reap without fail. Therefore, while we have time, we should do good works toward everyone, and most of all toward those who are of the household of the faith.

Psalm
Psalm 121 (120):6
Ant. Jesus, be my shade in the heat of the day.
The sun will not burn you by day, nor the moon by night.
Ant. Jesus, be my shade in the heat of the day.

Closing
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Lord Jesus, you sat tired at a well and asked for a drink. Meet us in our tiredness, and give us the living water you promised. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
