Hymn

O worship the King, all glorious above, O gratefully sing his power and his love; Our Shield and Defender, the Ancient of Days, Pavilioned in splendor, and girded with praise.

The reading

Be still for a moment, and let the day wait. Listen for what Jesus wants to say to you first.

No Gospel is published for this date.

Micah 7:7–9

But I will look towards the Lord. I will wait for God, my Savior. My God will hear me. You, my enemy, should not rejoice over me because I have fallen. I will rise up, when I sit in darkness. The Lord is my light. I will carry the wrath of the Lord, because I have sinned against him, until he may judge my case and execute judgment for me. He will lead me into the light. I will behold his justice.

Reflection

What stood out to you, even if you do not know why?

What would you like to tell Jesus?

Silence

Be still for a minute. You do not have to say anything.

Psalm 5:4

Ant. Lord Jesus, let the first word of my day be spoken to you.

For to you, I will pray. In the morning, Lord, you will hear my voice.

Ant. Lord Jesus, let the first word of my day be spoken to you.

Closing

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Father of light, you wake us into this new day. Receive the work we have not yet begun, and let your Son go before us. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
