Opening
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Hymn
Praise him! praise him! Jesus, our blessed Redeemer! Sing, O earth—his wonderful love proclaim. Hail him! hail him! highest angels in glory; Strength and honor give to his holy name!

The reading
Be still for a moment, and let the day wait. Listen for what Jesus wants to say to you first.
No Gospel is published for this date.
Hosea 6:1–3
In their tribulation, they will arise early to me. Come, let us return to the Lord. For he has seized us, and he will heal us. He will strike, and he will cure us. He will revive us after two days; on the third day he will raise us up, and we will live in his sight. We will understand, and we will continue on, so that we may know the Lord. His landing place has been prepared like the first light of morning, and he will come to us like the early and the late rains of the land.
Reflection
Is there a word or picture you would like to keep with you?
What would you like to tell Jesus?
Silence
Be still for a minute. You do not have to say anything.
Psalm
Psalm 37 (36):5
Ant. Jesus, I give you my plans. Show me your way, one step at a time.
Reveal your way to the Lord, and hope in him, and he will accomplish it.
Ant. Jesus, I give you my plans. Show me your way, one step at a time.
Today’s lesson from Jesus
Ask, seek, knock
Ask, and it shall be given to you. Seek, and you shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and whoever seeks, finds; and to anyone who knocks, it will be opened. Or what man is there among you, who, if his son were to ask him for bread, would offer him a stone; or if he were to ask him for a fish, would offer him a snake? Therefore, if you, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your sons, how much more will your Father, who is in heaven, give good things to those who ask him?
Matthew 7:7–11

Closing
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Lord, make us attentive to the one who needs us today. Let us not be too busy to be sent. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
