Opening
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Hymn
Crown him with many crowns, The Lamb upon his throne! Hark how the heavenly anthem drowns All music but its own!
Matthew Bridges (1800–1894); first published 1851. Public domain.
The reading
Be still for a moment, and let the day wait. Listen for what Jesus wants to say to you first.
No Gospel is published for this date.
Colossians 3:12–17
Therefore, clothe yourselves like the elect of God: holy and beloved, with hearts of mercy, kindness, humility, modesty, and patience. Support one another, and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive one another. For just as the Lord has forgiven you, so also must you do. And above all these things have charity, which is the bond of perfection. And let the peace of Christ lift up your hearts. For in this peace, you have been called, as one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ live in you in abundance, with all wisdom, teaching and correcting one another, with psalms, hymns, and spiritual canticles, singing to God with the grace in your hearts. Let everything whatsoever that you do, whether in word or in deed, be done all in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Reflection
What word or phrase stays with you?
What would you like to tell Jesus?
Silence
Be still for a minute. You do not have to say anything.
Psalm
Psalm 57 (56):9
Ant. Wake my heart, Jesus, before the day wakes my worries.
Rise up, my glory. Rise up, psaltery and harp. I will arise in early morning.
Ant. Wake my heart, Jesus, before the day wakes my worries.

Closing
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Lord Jesus, your mother kept your words and pondered them in her heart. Give us a heart that listens, and a will that follows. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
