Opening
Lord of quiet fire, I come before you. Steady my mind. Soften my will. Let your love be my light.
Hymn
Quiet flame within the morning, Kindle what is cold in me. Teach my hurried heart to listen, Teach my eyes Your light to see. In the work that waits before me, Be my patience, be my peace. Holy Spirit, keep me present Till the day finds its release. — Original, Prayer on Fire
Psalmody
Antiphon
Out of the depths I call; hear me with mercy.
Psalm
I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise will be ever in my mouth. In the Lord, my soul will be praised. May the meek listen and rejoice. Magnify the Lord with me, and let us extol his name in itself. Taste and see that the Lord is sweet. Blessed is the man who hopes in him.

Glory Be
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Antiphon
Out of the depths I call; hear me with mercy.
Reading
Romans 8:1–2, 10–11 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who are not walking according to the flesh. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has freed me from the law of sin and death. But if Christ is within you, then the body is indeed dead, concerning sin, but the spirit truly lives, because of justification. But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead lives within you, then he who raised up Jesus Christ from the dead shall also enliven your mortal bodies, by means of his Spirit living within you. — Romans 8:1–2, 10–11 · Catholic Public Domain Version (public domain)
Reflection
Review the day without harshness. Thank God for three gifts. Ask mercy for one failure. Rest in being a beloved child, not a finished project.
Intercession
For hearts that are tired, bring rest. For hearts that are restless, bring purpose. For hearts that are hard, bring compassion. For the world you love, kindle justice and peace. Lord, hear our prayer.
Closing prayer
Father, I place this hour in your hands. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
Silence
If you can, rest in quiet for half a minute before you rise.
