About today
When Christmas falls on a weekday, the Sunday within the octave is the feast of the Holy Family. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph lived the hidden years of obedience, work, and flight. The Church sets this household before every household, not as a plaster model, but as a communion in which the Son of God was subject to Mary and Joseph in Nazareth. Ask today for patience in ordinary rooms, and for a family life that can carry the Word in weakness.
Original – Prayer on Fire.
Verse of the day
After the days of her purification were fulfilled, according to the law of Moses, they brought him to Jerusalem, in order to present him to the Lord, just as it is written in the law of the Lord, “For every male opening the womb shall be called holy to the Lord,”
Luke 2:22–23
