Opening
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Hymn
Alleluia! sing to Jesus! His the scepter, His the throne. Alleluia! His the triumph, His the victory alone. Hark! the songs of peaceful Zion thunder like a mighty flood. Jesus out of every nation has redeemed us by His blood.

The reading
Be still for a moment, and let the day wait. Listen for what Jesus wants to say to you first.
No Gospel is published for this date.
Philippians 4:4–9
Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I say, rejoice. Let your modesty be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious about nothing. But in all things, with prayer and supplication, with acts of thanksgiving, let your petitions be made known to God. And so shall the peace of God, which exceeds all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Concerning the rest, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is chaste, whatever is just, whatever is holy, whatever is worthy to be loved, whatever is of good repute, if there is any virtue, if there is any praiseworthy discipline: meditate on these. All the things that you have learned and accepted and heard and seen in me, do these. And so shall the God of peace be with you.
Reflection
What did you notice as you listened?
What would you like to tell Jesus?
Silence
Be still for a minute. You do not have to say anything.
Psalm
Psalm 121 (120):2
Ant. I do not begin alone. Lord Jesus, you walk out the door with me.
My help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
Ant. I do not begin alone. Lord Jesus, you walk out the door with me.
Today’s lesson from Jesus
Do not worry: the birds and the lilies
Consider the birds of the air, how they neither sow, nor reap, nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of much greater value than they are? And which of you, by thinking, is able to add one cubit to his stature? And as for clothing, why are you anxious? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither work nor weave. But I say to you, that not even Solomon, in all his glory, was arrayed like one of these. So if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is here today, and cast into the oven tomorrow, how much more will he care for you, O little in faith? Therefore, do not choose to be anxious, saying: ‘What shall we eat, and what shall we drink, and with what shall we be clothed?’
Matthew 6:26–31

Closing
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Father, receive our small yes. We offer the hours we have not yet lived. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
