About today

Josaphat Kuncevyc (c. 1580–1623), a Basilian monk and bishop, labored for the unity of Orthodox and Catholic in the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth and was killed by a mob. The Church keeps his memorial on 12 November as a martyr for unity, not for a party. Blood was the price of a communion he would not abandon. Ask today for a love of the East and the West that will not treat schism as normal, and for the grace to seek one flock under one Shepherd.

Original – Prayer on Fire.

Shared by the community

For Mary and Dewey as they prepare for their upcoming wedding, may the Holy Spirit be with them and help grow their love for one another through Holy Matrimony.

R. Lord, hear our prayer.

In meetings, errands, and unfinished lists, let us not lose the person; hold us present until the work is love.

R. Lord, hear our prayer.

Our Father

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Closing prayer

Jesus, you come in the one who needs patience. Open our eyes at noon. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Sign of the Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
